• Get involved/find out what groups are active in your community. Some possibilities are: SPHR (Solidarity with Palestinian Human Rights http://www.sphr.org ), local groups of North American Friends of Sabeel, a Palestinian liberation theology-based organization http://www.fosna.org/, International Jewish Anti-zionist Network http://www.ijsn.net/home/, and Jewish Voice for Peace http://jewishvoiceforpeace.org/. • Stay informed/learn about the issues.
– Read alternative media and web sites of those of organizations working in the field (see below and back of sheet for a selection of these)
• Respond to urgent actions.
• Lobby our government on Palestinian issues; e.g., to end its collusion in the 5-year-long Israeli-imposed
restrictions on trade with Gaza’s civilian population.
• Respond knowledgably, peacefully and confidently to provocative or ill informed assertions or accusations from those who support the occupation.
• Work to get union, church, pension or other funds disinvested from State of Israel bonds: http://dumpisraelbonds.com/
• Boycott companies profiting from and/or supporting the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
– Find out about local BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) activities and groups.
– Bring BDS initiatives to your workplace, school, or neighbourhood, or organize educational events.
